After graduating from Belmont High School, he attended the University Short Course in
 Madison, WI.

 He married Ada Wise (b.2/29/1896-d.11/9/1965) on 2-22-1916.
 They were married at the home Mr. and Mrs. John Wise Jr.  

Ada wore the veil and wreath which her mother wore as a bride, and she carried a bouquet of bridal roses.

 They farmed in the Big Patch area until 1952, when they moved to Belmont.

 They had eight children.
