The students write in their journals each day. On this day, their assignment was to copy the daily sentence strip and then write five words and/or draw five pictures that have "A" in the middle. I love watching Kindergarten students problem solve how to get answers. Some students drew pictures, others checked out their neighbors, some looked up words in books and a few wrote the words by sounding them out. I missed getting pictures of everyone doing journals, since my camera memory filled up. I hit the 200 picture max. :-)
